Affidavits in place of Marriage Certificate
Hello
My wife is about to file I-130 for her father (Her mother passed away during her last trip to the U.S). There is no marriage certificate available. Can he arrange for an affidavit ? If so, who can attest the affidavit ? Is it enough to get it attested from a Notary Public ? Or does it require a First Class Magistrate ? Any help is highly appreciated. By the way, we have our oath ceremony scheduled tomorrow in Nashville, TN (12/08/06). I'm very thankful to this website for all the insight and help provided.
