GC petition status

HI,
I am on H1-B Visa.My current employer has filed for my GC in 2004.The case is in back log and I am married to a Green card holder in 2004.Now my wife is getting her Citizen ship in a month.Will she be able to sponsor me for GC after she gets her citizen ship??If that is true what will happen to my Existing GC petition??Will i get the GC??What will happen to my current H1-B?? What will be my existing status??Your help is greatly apperciated !!!

As soon as she gets her ctizenship, request that your employer Withdraw your application and let your wife file for you. Once she files the I-130 and you file a I485 concurrently,( after you withdraw the existing one) you'll b able to file a I-765. if all goes well, youll hav e a GC in a year or so.
