We have been sponsored by my Sis in law under F4 category. She got the approval for us 11 years ago and since then we were waiting for our priority dates become current. My daughter was then 11 years and she is now 22. Our priority dates are in late Jan 1996 and the current priority dates for next month is early Jan 1996. All our papers have been processed and have been forwarded to the local embassy as communicated to us by NVC.

    1) How long does it take normally for the local embassy to contact a beneficiary in a case like ours ?
    2) My daughter is at present trying to do her Masters at a US university. Will this case be a problem for her to get a student visa?

Pls advise since we are at a dilemma over this issue.

    Thanks in advance

Yes, pending of this case may potentially cause the fact that she willl be denied a student visa, but then you just never know how a consulate will act/react

          Help - F4

Has anybody been in this situation before?

          1) What are the chances of my daughter getting a student visa for post grad when our petition is still pending at the local consulate ?

          2) She is 22 yrs now and unmarried. If not for student Visa What are other options of her going to US if her case is turned down by the local consulate because she is over 21 ?

3)What are her chances on child status protection act ?

          Can someone please help?

            F4 Help

Please, I am at a loss here.

The letter from NVC informing us our papers have been forwarded to the local consulate tells us not to contact the embassy until they get in touch.

Our priority dates have become current. The automated help line in NVC says that the documents have been sent to the local consulate late Nov. 2006. We have not received any news so far from the embassy.

How long do you think that the embassy takes to call for mediacl and visa interview after the priority dates become current ?
