Time taken for Visa interview - F4

We have been contacted by NVC and were informed that our papers have been forwarded to the local embassy in late Nov. 2006 and that we will be contacted by the emabssy and for us not to call them until then.

Our priority dates are current but the embassy has not contacted us for medical and for interview. How long does it take to happen ?Does anybody have an idea ?

It could take afew months to more than a year

It took me 2 month to be called for interview after NVC forwarded my documents to embassy.

it really depends on visa allocation for each embassy for example us embassy in abu-dhabi has different schedule comparing with mumbai. you can check the web site of your embassy for current under processing cases and see if your own case number is listed or not.

I could not find any provision to find the current processing times in the Colombo embassy site. How do we do that ?

Hello,

I have checked US embassy website at colombo and unfortunately you are right and there is no page showing administrative process of Immigrant-cases , but do not worry cause it won't take so much.

FYI, for some embassies you can have access to some web pages in order to check the completed cases ready for interview.
