  • 221g pending status- IV

I have problem with my father's case for 221g. His interview was in June'06 and it is still pending. He got 221g as well, I don't know if its pink color or not. I'm calling state dept and emailing US embassy New Delhi once/week. I realy have a bad experience. My father is 80 years old, I guess they don't care the age factor.
I even tried to get help from congressman & senator and there is no help. I'm really stressed out.

They should not have treated elderly people like this.

Anyone else have a same problem for immigrant visa background check? Any success? Any suggestion?

This is what I get from US Embassy:
This is in response to your inquiry regarding immigrant visa application
of XYZ.* This application is still pending under section 221(g)
of Immigration and Nationality Act for mandatory administrative
processing.* No further action can be taken until the processing is
completed. We will contact XYZ once the processing is completed.

    Hello,

All the immigrant visas pending under 221g section ,need more documents for completion.

Frankly most of immigrant cases are interrupted by this section and actually blue page given to applicants usually comes with some attachements clearing the exact detail should be completed.

    eg:Birth certificate,Marrage certificate,Federal tax trascripts,proof of us domicile,affidavit of support,proof pf relationship ...

which subcategory is your father's case pending for???

if there is no attachments ,maybe your father had some name similarities and his case under background check.

      Under category IR5.

Actually they didn't need any document from my father. Its been 7 months and I don't know how long it will take. When I called state dept they said its because of last name (surname).

Lets see how long it takes. The process is so slow.

I guess no one else having same problem.

      Thanks in advance.
