  • I-130 and I-485 still waiting. Had interview 7 months ago

I applied for green card in March 2006 through my wife who is a US citizen. We got called for an interview in July 2006 and the officer told us that I would receive my green card in a couple of months. But nothing has happened since then and so I am wondering how to follow up further and get information.

Meanwhile, we moved from San Francisco to New York in Aug 2006 and when we informed this to our officer during our July interview, she said she would take care of the address change. I also visited the NY USCIS local office to make sure they have our NY address.

Can someone tell me what I can do at this point to expedite or get some info? Thanks. Should I engage a lwayer?
