Petition for Alien relative denied

I just received a notice saying that my application for both my parents greencard was denied because I have not adequately shown proof of relationship. I provided them with a notarized affidavit from my grandfather who was present at my time of birth and also a letter from the Municipal Medical Officer of Health stating that birth records are lost for my year of birth...

what else can i provide when I appeal the decision?

Which embassy/consulate denied the visa?

I strongly recommend you go through a very good attorney for further documentation for the appeal, an attorney who is familiar with the local consulate/embassy procedures. There are a couple who have branches in India.

Hi,
As you said that the MEDICAL OFFICER gave the statement that you birth records are lost, it is not sufficient. Even if the MO said that, you can apply for the Birth ceriticate .The process goes via two to three offices, police station , MRO office and then the Department of Birth and death ceritificates.
They will definately issue you a Birth certificate though it takes 3-4 months time
