  • Date format on the Birth Certificate from different country

I am an US citizen. I am planning to sponsor my married sister and her family to come to US with the immigrant visa. She lives in country called Bangladesh. As a part of the process of collecting documents on behalf of the application form (I-130), I noticed that the Date Format (d-m-yy) on the orginal Birth Certificate of mine and my sister is different than the usual US date format (MM-dd-yyyy). This may create a confusion as no date format indicated on the Birth Certificate.

For example: original date 3-10-06 in Bangladesh can easily misinterpreted in US as March 10, 2006 instead of real date Oct. 3, 2006.
    My QUESTIONS are:

Is it a problem to submit the copy of the original Birth Certificate and immigration officer will automatically know to read the proper date based on the country of origin?

If it is a problem, please advise me how can I resolve it from USA?

    Thanks.

    Sam

Just submit as is. All the people from india, bangladesh, pakistan uses that format and immigration are aware of that. It is not a a big deal.
