I-485 pending, told to expect result in mail

hi,

I married a US Citizen and the interview was today, at the end of the interview, the officer said that she's keeping the case pending and that we should expect the result of the I-485 application in mail.

She put her name on my passport and "Sec. 245 I-485 pending". I dont know what the result will be. Has that happened to anybody else? What should I expect? I had my I-94 lost.

..............it probably means you will be asked to prove that you entered the country when you said you did. Sec 245 deals with that.

thanks a lot curiousone for responding, I have booked an appointment to speak to an immigration officer, I will ask and hope he'll tell me why it's pending. I submitted copies of I-94 when I filed forms I-485 and I-765. What else besides I-94 can prove that I entered US legally? I have the number mentioned on I-94 copied on to the forms that I filled out, I have copies of those forms.

Do you have a passport stamp? That should settle when you entered the country last.

Yes I do have

Yes I do have a passport stamp and the lady checked it as well. I don't know why and what is wrong, I guess I will just wait. In the meanwhile I am booking up an appointment to go meet an immigration officer.

thanks for your response, If I shouldn't go to the immigration officer and just wait please respond. I dont have a lawyer.
