    Hi Everyone,

    I had my Marriage-Based interview yesterday at the Tampa so I am sharing the experience with everybody.

    The interview was scheduled for 1:30pm and we where there about 30 min early. The security officer asked for my Interview Letter and told us where to be seated until my name was called. At 1:40am a lady officer came out and called my name. My wife and I stood up and then she suddenly said that I must stay here she was going to speak to my wife first and then will call for me. It was a weird feeling staying there in the waiting room when you read that most people go together and then for the second interview will be question apart. But that didn’t intimidate me that much because my wife and I knew each other for 10 years and are married for almost 2. There is nothing that we don’t know about each other. The only thing that had me worried was that I field all the proof that we had like joint bank accounts ….. But she likely figured out how I filed everything.

    I waited about 8min in the waiting room and then the lady called my name again. When we got to the interview room she swore me in and said that all our things look in order and she was going to ask me some questions. It was all the questions from the I-485. That was it. She asked for my DL, passport, EAD card and my 1-94. After giving these documents a look she said that I was approved and she stamped my passport there and then and said that I will receive the conditional green card because we are not married for 2 years and explained how we must remove the condition after two years.

    In all it was a pain free experience and it went really well. So I wish everyone else the best with their upcoming interviews!!! Don’t be intimidated if called apart.

    Were you married recently while under I-94 status, and then applied for AOS?

              The biometrics appointment was quick and easy. You will go there and fill in a form that they will provide, then when you are finished you go and stand in a line were they want to see some form of id and the appointment letter. Then you go and sit and wait for some one to call you. They take your fingerprints and a photo and then you are done. Don’t stress about it, its quick. I hope this info helped

                congrats to you Mike,

                i had my interview this past Monday in MN office. I did not get any stamp on my passport and my EAD was returned to me; I was told that my background check is not completed. However, my wife saw the officer stamping my application w/an approved seal; not sure what that means.
                I am curious how did you get a stamp on your Passport since I read in many places that USCIS do not give Stamps any longer.

                I am told to wait on Background Check. My buddy from NY is waiting since August 2004 for his approval.

                Thanks....

                  Hey SA

                  Let met try to answer your question. After all the questions in the interview the officer said that she is approving me and took my passport and gave me the stamp and then said that I can use it as my green card for work travel ,..... She did say that is valid for a year and when my Green Card arrives in the mail that I rather should use it. As far as I understand the situation is that she took my EAD card and I have no proved that I am a legal worker. So the stamp shows that I am a permanent resident and have all the rights that they have.

                    I have a couple of qs if you do not mind;
                    *You said you were married before you entered US. As a proof of marriage abroad, did you give them a marriage certificate from your country or you had to register your marriage in US?

                    *What visa did you enter with?

                      Hey

                      Yes we were married before I came to the US and we gave them a copy of our married certificate from my country, one does not have to register your marriage here in the US. We didn’t!!! I enter on a F1 student visa.

                      I hope this help.
