im still waiting its only pending (I-130)

i had married at April 7 2006 and i filed form I-130 and G-325A at May 23 2006, they sand me a reciept 2 month later , than they transfered my case from vermond to california service center , at September 2006 they changed the case status -" This case is now pending "- . From that date nothing happened until today,
i came this country without inspection , i was working international ship , i just go out from the ship nobody give me visa or pass , at Nov 2003
my wife 10 year older than me and we have baby . i live in newyork.

so , this is my status , idont have lawyer , we filled the forms and we sand .

what do i have to do ? or What are they going to do ? do i have to contact lawyer ?
