  • An interview question!

    Hi Everyone,

I am so glad to find this website. I really hope I could find an answer to my puzzle. My interview (family based GC) is at the end of this month. When I filed 485, I made an error unintentionally. I came to the US with an F-1 visa and got inspected by the officer at the airport. However, I checked "No" at the question "Did the immigration offer inspect the applicant" on the form I-485. It's really a silly mistake I made. Although I have not received any REF regarding it, I am wondering whether I should or I am allowed to mention it during the interview. Thanks in advance for any help and I really appreciate it!

I think you should tell the officer because it would look alot better if you entered legally rather than illegally. Did you send copies of your I-94??
I am no expert but I would think it makes a difference.

      One additional question. Thank you!

Thank you for your quick response. I did send the copy of my I-94 with all the other documentation. But, I am a little surprised that they did not ask for REF regarding that before the interview. In addition, my RD is Jan 22, FP is Feb 15 and my interview is Mar 28. However, I don't know whether it is normal or not to have an interview before the approval of EAD and AP. Also, my I-140 based on National Interest Waiver was approved a year ago, but I am stuck at the priority date. I am not sure whether the unusual/usual process has anything to do with my previous I-140 approval.

Again, thanks for all the help and good luck to everyone on the same boat.
