Hello,
I am US citizen and in process of applying GC for my mom. For I-130 I need to provide my birth certificate that serves as proof of my relationship with her.
I do not have an official birth certificate but long time back (when I was applying my own GC), I have gotten a unavailability letter from local authority and an affidavit from my mom (didn't get from my father as he had deceased by then).
My question is, now that I am applying for my mom's GC, can I use the same affidavit that my mom has made to prove my relationship with her? I am thinking using current affidavit might be like - I am applying GC for my mom and proving my relation with her by providing an affidavit that she has given. Is this acceptable or do I need to have affidavit about my birth from somebody other than whom I am applying GC for?
I will appreciate any suggestion/pointer on this.
