MAJOR CHANGES IN FAMILY CATEGORY POSSIBLE:Watch out for the new bill

Everyone keep a watch on the new immigration reform bill if it will pass.
If it passes, it will have major impact on the family category;

*Immigrant visas for parents of USCs will come under a yearly cap of 40000.
*Immigrant visas for siblings and adult children of USCs will be eliminated.

What happens to 1-130 already submitted by US citizens for siblings now pending with UCIS or NVC?

Even if they do eliminate the sibling category(we are not sure, the bill may or may not pass in the present form), they will have to process the I-130s already submitted.

Lets say if they pass this bill. Will there be a set deadline or an effective date for this bill to come in effect? or will it be effective the day it will be signed?

The effective date will be written in the bill. It could be a few months from the day it is signed into law. Do not know for sure.

i-130 parents

USIS approved i-130 for parents on 10.4.07. The beneficiaries have not received any communication either from NVC or local consulate as yet. What will happen to these cases if the new bill is passed with a cap on immigrant visa numbers for parents ?

eb2 in i 824

i am filing i 824 for my wife
my green card was issued under eb3
now i can be under eb2
how do i change my category b cos i have an approoved petition
any one had same situation b 4 please help
