Query about 221(G) after interview(Immigrant Visa).

Dear Sir

I am a US Citizen, I applied(I-130) on Nov2006 for my Dad. My dad just had the interview today may20'2007(US Embassy,Dhaka). After signed the DS230 part -2 during the interview the counselor handed him a Blue sheet with 10 question about the adresses he lived form the age of 16 and some other question about family and occupation. The embassy told my Dad, they are satisfied with all the papers but he didnt recieve the immigrant visa.He will have to submit the BLue Sheet by next week. They will contact my Dad over the phone. Now My question is that :
1) After dropping off the Blue sheet how long it will take to call my Dad again?
2) Is it possible to get the Visa or what it is? pls Sir.

I hope your issue is resolved. I am also applying I-130 for my parents and they are in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Would you please share your experience in detail such as,

1. Time line of I-130?
2. Which Processing Center?
3. What are the documents you had to provide for your Dad to face Interview?
4. Any advice about the whole process.

i posted this reply in response to almost similar question.hope u dont mind my sharing my experience. i wife applied for i 130 last week of sept last yr and had interview in mid nov a month and half later. i filled all the docs which the embassy had mailed me. since i was not working then my wife's uncles had earlier sent a sponsorship letter(bank statements ,prop etc).the us embassy req to mail the docs b/w 10-15 working days in advance at the local vfs center.i didnt want to loose my wife's uncle sponsorship docs and i took it personally .but once inside the embassy during security they opened it up. anyway the interview was fine.we had a lady who interviewd me. So everything went fine. but in the end they gave a blue paper with 221g. anyway its been 8months now and im still anxious and worried about the fate of my process. my wife is pregnant and wanted to be there but unfortunately couldn't be there by her side. hope others have better outcome.

i am married to usa citizen . my wife filed i 130 and all req docs and had interview in chennai since i am residing in south india. my interview was approx 8 months back. they say my case is in admin process . i emailed the embassy mentioningmy wife is in usa and whether i caan apply for visa.they mentioned no and it will delay the immigration process.
i dont know abt sponsoring sisters, parents etc. still it is a lengthy process. so better to chk with the embassy directly.
the reason why i am here is the usa embassy site mentions after applying for the immigrant visa not to contact them it might delay the process. so i am here.
