  • I-130 being a hindrance for visitor's visa

    Hi,

    I have a couple of questions :

    1.
I'm a US citizen and would like to apply for citizenship for my sister now.
However she's planning to come on a visitor's visa next year to the US.
Will the I-130 application create problems for her in getting the visitor's visa ?

    2.
I'm applying for citizenship for my parents. They have been to the US several times on a visitor's visa. Would they have an A#? If yes, where would i find it ?

    Thanks
    mb

Are your family members residents? You must first be a permanent US resident before you can get US citizenship.

i am married to usa citizen . my wife filed i 130 and all req docs and had interview in chennai since i am residing in south india. my interview was approx 8 months back. they say my case is in admin process . i emailed the embassy mentioningmy wife is in usa and whether i caan apply for visa.they mentioned no and it will delay the immigration process.
i dont know abt sponsoring sisters, parents etc. still it is a lengthy process. so better to chk with the embassy directly.
the reason why i am here is the usa embassy site mentions after applying for the immigrant visa not to contact them it might delay the process. so i am here.
