thanks for taking time to read this...i am a green card holder for the past 20+ years, my mom is a USC by birth and so should I, however she opted for us (her kids) to file for gc instead of USC since she would raise us up in the Philippines and just let us come visit the US 1-2x a year to avoid penalties. Now i am here staying and working for good with a fairly high paying job (medical field) and if im not mistaken, starting to accumulate the required years of residency to obtain citizenship. Now, i have a BF in the Philippines who is a skilled worker in the IT field, he has a tourist visa until 2010, and i would really like for him to come and stay here with me before his visa expires, because renewal of tourist visas now a days is uncertain. My question now is what would be the best possible way for him to stay here legally and eventually work? i know there are so many options to choose from but all of them entails waiting, i am willing to wait but hopefully not for 5 years or over. Does he need to marry me here in the US and wait for a sponsorship to get an H1B while waiting for his petition to come out? I am willing to hire a lawyer if it will significantly help, know any one? Thank you! God bless!
