  • Check bounced for advance parole, what next?

Something went wrong with my bank account and one of my checks bounced (the one for the advance parole). I transferred funds onto my account to fix this, is the USCIS going to try clearing the check once more or just give up on my application?

    Read the I-131 application

    Hi Nini

If you have insufficient funds to cover one of the checks, the the Fee Section from the I-131 says the following:

"Checks are accepted subject to collection. An uncollected check will render the application and any document issued invalid. A charge of $30.00 will be imposed if a check in payment of a fee is not honored by the bank on which it is drawn."

So my guess is that they'll be expecting a $30 penalty from you and may well have canceled the I-131 appliction. Perhaps you have received some information from the USCIS about this already however if not, you might want to reapply for the I-131 and send two checks - one for the $30 penalty and one for the I-131 application fee.
