Does I-864 require 3 years tax return form?

Hello,

Just got a question about filing the I-864 form, my husband doesn't want to go through all the troubles attaching 3 years' tax return forms, since there is a choice of attaching "tax return for only the most recent tax year". Is that going to be a problem if we do that?

Hi Judy,

No, as stated by the NVC in the instructions, it is not necessary to attach the past 3 years of tax returns! Only most recent tax return is fine - however, attaching the past 3 years proves your husband's financial stability and can definitely help - if not help, it does not cause any harm either!

the more details u provide to the NVC the faster ur paper work gets processed. so its better u give them 3 years tax transcripts.
