  • FB1 Processing Dates Difference between CSC and VSC

    Hello,

I'm wondering if there are any reasons why there should be a difference in the current processing date for FB 1 category )U.S. citizen filing for an unmarried son or daughter over 21) between California Service Center and Vermont Service Center? Here are the current processing dates for both SCs from Aug 2007 bulletin:

    CSC January 17, 2003
    VSC July 02, 2006

I filed in May 2004 and my I-130 is at CSC. I understand that it won't make the priority date any more current than it is. But to think that it's stuck at CSC...grrr.

    Thank you,
    Makoto

USCIS processing dates and Visa Bulletin priority dates are two different things.

VB : defines if a visa number is available or not, so that any/all cases that fall under this PD can be filed/processed.

USCIS dates are based on filing date of I-130s so you have to see the two in conjunction. Service centers take their own sweet time to work on the petitions and depending on case load their times can vary widely. Fortunately the PDs are the date the I-130 was filed.

after I130 is approved the next step actually getting the GC is determined by VB. To be called for the interview the PD needs to be current as per VB

Thanks for the clarification. It's unfortunate that the processing dates is so different between the two SCs

It's also unfortunate that the processing dates for Permanent Residents filing for their children is more current than the one for U.S. Citizens filing

booo...I guess we have to keep our prayers persistent...
