  • mothers birth certificate

    Hello,
I have a question. My mother doesnot have a birth certificate. so i'm planning on getting a non availability certificate for her. But based on her 10 std record her name reads A.R.Maala.(maiden name) But in all her rest of her records (passport, IT returns etc etc) her name reads S.P. Maala Bai.
How do I deal with this? My father is no more. when i got my non availability certificate, i got it in my maiden name and i also had a document stating that i leagally changed my name after marriage.
can i still get such document without my fathers presense, for my mother? or can i get the non availability certificate in her current name?
    Thanks
    Pooja

    hi,

The name of your mother on the passport is very immportant because i guess they consider that name... and USCIS and NVC people know that women change their names after marriage... and I guess your mom is in India... so she can get an affadavit made .. and if that doesnt work... Please ask USCIS... as in india.. any kind of stuff takes atleast 8 days to process

    God bless

      Hi,

I have a related question. How important is the non-availability from
the B.D.O? My parents were born in remote villages in A.P
and are too old to travel to get this non-availability certificates.
Can we just get by with the passport, School leaving and affidavits?

      thanks.
