Help!!!! my greencard had expired! (but this is a special case)
hi everyone, please read this all the way through before judging me.
my greencard has been expired since 1999. i was a holder of conditional residency through my mothers marriage when i arrived here in 1997. but during the time of renewal my family and I experienced a tragedy involving my step father. he is now in prison. Now that i really need my greencard for school in order to get grants and work it has been 8 years. I did not carry or was aware that my greencard had already expired. My mother has her excuses and is hesitant at taking care of it, then and still today. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME. Time is precious! I am scared..i need to know what i can do to maintain a legal residency here as a 19 year old full time nursing student. THANKS in advance!
