GC sponsor through my spouse

My wife got a greencard on jan 2007 and i am still on h1b and didn't apply for GC.now i have a issues with H1B and like to apply for GC through my wife as a dependent.I like to know is it possible if so like to know the procedure and duration to get GC through my wife.As i like to stay with her even if my h1b get cancelled.
Your suggestion will help me a lot.thanks in advance.

Your wife will have to petition for you under F2A category ( spouses of GC holders) and roughly it will take 5 years for the visa number .
You must keep yourself legal if you wish to stay in US during that time.
If you become illegal , you will be denied your gc when your number comes 5 years later. If you are having problems with your H-1, try to get another employer to file an H-1 for you. Or become a student F-1. But you must maintain some legal status till you get your turn for the gc.

If you cannot get another visa change, go back home and wait 5 years for the visa.

Thank you very much for your information.Shall i apply GC through h1b(one I get ride of the h1b issues) or through my spouse.I think through employment is faster than through my wife.whats your suggestion.some of them suggest wait until ur wife get citizenship to apply GC.

waiting for your wife to become a citizen and then petitioning is about the same, she will take 5 yrs to become a citizen and then sponsor you.

Employment route may be faster depending on the category and your native country, if you can find an employer
to sponsor you.

one more thing did you marry before her GC was approved or after. That can mean years off the whole processing
