I-130 & I-485 filed on July 27, but no response

I filed the I-130 & I-485 for my Mom on 27 July 2007. However, I have not received any receipt up to now. It has been about one month and I start to worry about it. The checks have not been cleared either from my account. Normally, how long does it take to get the receipt for I-130 and I-485? I used a P.O. box as the mailing address on both applications, as I may to move out of current address. Does this matter? Does anyone has the similar situation? Thanks in advance for your reply and advice.

I have the same situation

Hi, I sent the I130 for my brothers too, and according to the USPS they received it in Texas on July 30, 2007, but haven't heard from them and the checks has not cleared in bank either. I am assuming that because everyone tried to send application before new fees were applied, they are provably having a backlog.

Has anyone receive response for application sent at the end of July, 2007?

I think you are right. The delay was caused by the huge backlog. I find USCIS update about this. See the USCIS web site attached:

I sent my mothers application (I-130, I-485 and I-131) on July 18th and received the finger printing notice before I got the receipts. I got the FP notice on Aug 8th for appointment on Aug 18th. Got receipt for these three applications on the same day on Aug 30th.

So it took appx 6 weeks to get the receipts. I am in Portland, OR and sent the application to national service center in Chicago.
