had interview with INS

Okay, so my husband and I had our interview yesterday (February 7th). My husband is from Colombia and I am a US Citizen. They did not approve my petition YET because the background check had not been turned in - they are waiting for the FBI to send it.

I am confussed! Why would they set the interview without the background check? Is this bad news for us? Are they going to deny my petition? What is my next step?
