Hi,
My in-laws have completed six months on B-2 visa which is valid for 10 years with multiple entry (I-94 expired three weeks ago) and we have applied for an extension 6 weeks ago. We got receipt notice and we are waiting for the approval decision. In the mean time, my wife got her citizenship last week and we are wondering if we can apply for their greencards while we are waiting for the decision on their B-2 visa extension. What happens to the extension request and their 10 year visitor visa if we go ahead and apply for GCs now (I-130 and I-485 at the same time)? Once we apply for GCs, can they stay here until they get GCs? Please advise. If anyone went through the similar scenario, please share your experiences.
Thanks.
