Green Card With My Brother

Hi

I am presently working as a research fellow at one of the topmost US medical college on J1 visa, and have been trained in finest of american and european medical schools. Besides this my performance has also been outstanding as measured by publications and recommendations that I got. I have been granted 5 years of J1 visa valid till 2011. My elder brother is resident of California, he and his wife holds Green card. As he owns some company there and also is doing job, he wants me to accompany him in his business which I hold expertise too. My question is that, can my brother sponsor my green card, as I do not want to ask for the same to my present employer?

There is no family category for brothers of green card holders ( there is a category for brothers of US citizens but even that takes 10 odd years).

He could file for you as an employer, if there are other shareholders in the company, under one of the employment categories
but these days even employment categories are severly backlogged.

You could also qualify under the employment categories for a national interest waiver and a schedule A exceptional ability
in your medical field, provided the visa numbers are available for your country.
