BIometric appointment and passport sent to consulate as it is expring

Hello,
My passport is exprinig this october 12 and i have a biometric intreview on the same day october 12th 2007. I have sent my passport to indian consulate and i have only xerox copy of it. Is it going to be a problem for my biometric intreview?? Any help is really apperciated as i do not want to go wrong. Thanks in advance for your help.

If it's only a fingerprinting visit, you need a photo id and the letter.

You'll need your passport for the final approval to be stamped on it until the card arrives in a few months.
