If you have been married for less than 2 years, by the date your Green Card is approved. Then, you will receive a Conditional Green Card, which is valid for 2 years.

90 Days, before your card expires, you have to send form I-751 to remove that "Conditional" status, submitting evidence that you are still married and such. It is NOT REAPPLYING, it is a different process. If it is approved, then you will receive your Unconditional Green Card, valid for 10 years (you renew it every 10 years, or until you become a citizen).

If you have been married for more than 2 years, by the date your Green Card is approved. Then you receive the 10 year unconditional green card.

Which green card will you get depends on how long you have been married... but WHEN do you file for Removal Of CONDITION (i-751) or WHEN do you file for CITIZENSHIP (n-400) depends on the Date you Green Card was APPROVED. NOT your marriage date.
