  • A few questions

Hi my name is Ashley. I just found this forum. To explain a little bit of my situation in August I married my husband, he is from Turkey. He entered the US on a B1/B2 Visa. It expired in 2002. He has no criminal records or anything like that. So, a few years ago before he spoke english, a man in NY told him he'd get him a greencard, for $3000 and opened a case for him under I-687, which was fraudulent. When my husband received a request for more evidence he didn't understand it and couldn't find the "supposed lawyer" so he just never went any further with it and the case was closed. He never went to any interviews and never had his biometrics taken. We have spoken to a couple of lawyers, and they all seem to have differing views on how to approach our applications. My husband's best friend, who also did the same application, was married and received his greencard last year and had no problems come up over the closed case. I guess I am just looking for some advice from some people who have been through this or similar. I understand all the different applications we need to do, and the possibility of a waiver over this, but anyone have any relevent experiences that may help or any advice ? It would be greatly appreciated!!! This has to be the most frustrating thing I've ever done in my life and we haven't even begun!

    Thanks

    Ashley
