I am a US citizen, born and raised in Indiana. I met my fiance' in Europe, an Australian citizen, and we are planning to marry in November. I filed K-1 two and a half months ago and have still not heard anything. I am currently with him in Australia, and reluctant to leave until we know what is happening -- we spent 5 months apart already and that was enough.
- Is there anything we can do to speed this up?
- Once it is approved in the USA, does he have to do anything over here in Australia with his passport in order to get into the US?
- How quickly can he begin work in America? (As a second year school teacher in the DC area, my salary @#%$'t really sufficient for the both of us.)
