  • Applying for father's green card

    Hi,

I need to apply for green card for my father. he is currnlty in US.

Not sure about what all forms I should applly with.

    1. I -130

    2. or can I apply with I-130 and I-485 simultaneously ? He is in US on B1/B2 visa.

    3. Also read to aply for I-864 and I325 A. Are they also needed ?

    4. How about medical, when would that be needed...to be done at what stage...

    5. Is there a link which tell stage by stage what happend when..in the whole green card processing for the simialr scenario.

Thanks in advance for your time to answer....Dil

You need to file I-130, I-485, I-864, I-693 (medical) and G-325a (one for you, one for him).

Plus the optional I-765 (work permit) and I-131 (travel permit).

When did he enter on a tourist visa?

      thank you- one more clarification

      Hi thanks for your reply.

To answer you question my dad entered US last week on B1/B2.

      One clarification:
I see you mentioned to submit medical in the beginging..can he go to a doctor and get medical done without any INS paperwork for filing ?

I sincerely appreciate you taking out time to asnwer my queries....Dil

Also. You will probably run into some trouble, because your dad SHOULD not have come to the USA with the INTENTION of immigranting using a TOURIST visa.

He abused the purposed of his visa and will likely be accused of that at his AOS interview.
