family based or employment based immigration?

I'm in a position where I can apply for either family based immigration (my parents are green card holders) or employer based immigration (I am currently on an H1 visa). Could somebody tell me which would be advantageous and quicker?

Family based immigration takes lot of time. Son/Daughter of GC holder.

Employment based immigration (EB1/EB2 or even EB3 now a days) is much faster. But if you lose your job before getting GC, you may have to start from sctrach again. (You may not have to start again in some cases, read I-485 and H1B visa pages on this web site.)
