Multiple entry valid visitor visa and filing I-130

I am naturalized USC. I want to file green card for my brother who has multiple entry visitor visa. He has been here couple of times. If I file I-130 for him can he still come here in US with the visitor visa? I heard that if he come here in visitor visa after petitioning I -130, his I - 130 will be voided. Is that true? How long he has to wait after filing I- 130 to travel with visitor visa, or is it even possible?

Please let me know if there is any other process.
