I-485 - supporting documents - PraetorianXI, razor1234, phitdesi
Hello all,
we are in the process of applying for Greencard for our in laws.
Applied for I-485 and advance parole.
I-130 got approved.
But for I-485, got a letter from INS asking for "original written statement on government letterhead that birth certificate is not available"
I guess this is the "non availability certificate from the municipal office", that was mentioned by razor1234 and phitdesi have mentioned in older posts.
Could you please elaborate on this. What the format should be to get it from India (because they dont have birth certificates).
Also we have already submitted affidavits regarding thier birth.
are they not valid or do we need to submit another form of records(including affidavits) in this case.
It would be a great help if any of you have a copy of the format for NON AVAILABILITY CERTIFICATE, that you can share with me.
