  • Visa for my parents

    Hi,

I am US citizen and we filed for my daughter and son in law (indian citizen). They received the I-797 notice of action on June 20, 2006.
    Receipt Date: Oct 7, 2005
    Priority Date: Oct 6, 2005
    Notice Date: May 31, 2006

The application status on website says:
"On May 31, 2006, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service"

Today is Nov 22, 2007. We haven't received anything from USCIS. Does it take such a long time? WHat is the exact process...

    Thanks,

You need to contact USCIS costumer service, it should not take more than 2 weeks in the mail to get to you, something has gone wrong.

Just wondering why you were waiting such a long time, especially if you know it is approve. You are lucky that once I-130 approved will valid indefinitely.
Make info-pass appointment through USCIS web site. Printout the status of I-130 and carry all required documents while visiting. Also, try to reach customer service in between the time.
