  • adjustement of status vs. consular prossesing

I have an interview with a consular officer for my green card in my country, and I understand there is a ten year bar if I was out of status in US before. I have a friend in US , also from my country, she just got her green card after being illegal, out of status, in US for two years thru adjustment of status. My question: is there a difference in ineligibility between consular interview and adjustment of status already being in US?

People who married an US Citizen, and are in the USA, will be pardoned illegal presence (overstays, out of status notification, etc) and illegal employment.

Consular Processing does not grant that though.
