Does anyone know ...

My parents had their AOS interview this morning at SanFrancisco local office. Officer asked few general questions like their parents names/birth dates/children's names-birth dates ..
After interview she said we will receive a letter. I was under the impression that they stamp passport after interview with temporary green card ..
Is it changed?
Did anyone face the same situation?

They no longer stamp the passports.
