Want to apply for GC based on marriage, but residency issue??
Hi,
I got married in Dec' 07 to USC. We want to apply for my greencard (i130, i485, i765, i131) but we are still living in different states(my husband is in NY and I moved to CT in Nov'07 from MA).. this is due to my job transition from l1 to h1.. and i am working on ongoing project until Nov 08.
Earlier I had filed my taxation in MA.. currenly I am staying and working in CT , due to my project commitment .. my current state tax deduction is on CT. His taxation is on NY
(even I have to register my new car and so I am getting my CT license this week)
I am planning to move to NY later next year (july or later)...
Q.1 If we file for me in FEB or MARCH by, will residency become a BIG issue as we have different addresses ??
Q.2 Do we have to file Jointly this year??
Q.3 What other document I can file to show that we are married and this marriage is not just to get GC!!!
