Marriage and divorce

My girlfriend is applying I-485 now and she would like to put me on her application, but the question is I was married in Chile in 1996 and file my divorce paper in the United State in 2002, but Chile did not recognize this divorce paper. Question is can I still married my girl friend in the United State and file I-485 together?
