  • I-129f, Is it Worth It to File Now?

My husband does not reside in the US. I have filed an I-130 for him that was recieved on November 14th, 2007. SO far i have only received reciept notice from USCIS.
Is it still worth it to file the I-129F? I am worried about the length of time it will take for him to get here with just he I-130. Anyone file the I-129F lately?

    Just wait...

Since you called him your husband, I assume you are already married. If you are already married, you cannot use the I-129F. (there are lots of warnings on the paperwork and you would have to pay even more fees, just a waste of your time, really.) I have a few friends who did the 130, it took about a year. Also, since it has been so long since your paperwork was received, it wouldn't save any time to do the 129F. Sign up on the uscis.gov website to receive emails when there is a change in status.

For the spouse, I-129F can be used for K-3 visa. But now-a-days, both I-129F and I-130 take same time for the approval.
