  • Need some guidance and feedback for filing GC for my siblings

    Hi All

I am planning to file GC for my 2 of sibling after getting my citizenship. I need some help or guidance on it, like how to go about it.. what are the requirements or paper work need to do ..etc?
I also want to find out if it is more quicker to first file my Mother GC and once she has it.. - let her start the process of GC for my siblings?
Or should I go ahead and file GC for my siblings directly? Which is the faster route?
    Any feedback is highly appreciated.
    Thanks, semi

There is no "faster" route... either way it will take from 14-18 years for them to get a green card through either you, or your mom.

      Please help

      Hi PraetorianXI and others

I looked at this link. this does not say that it takes 12-14 yr. It takes 1 yr. for sponsoring for parents , than why it takes 12-14 yr. for siblings. I am confused? Where can I find some info about this. Please someone help me by answering to my question
      thanks,

Because they have to wait for their priority date to become current. According to the Visa Bulletin that is released every month. Also depending on their category for family based immigration.

          Hi PraetorianXI

          Thanks for your reply

In one of another posting (by someone else) you advised that "
Siblings petitions take the longest time, they are 4th category. Usually around 15 years or more...

The best if for the LPR mom to file for her daughter, she would be on Category F2B. Her mom can upgrade the petition to F1 when she becomes a citizen.

The daughter should NOT marry until her mom becomes a citizen and upgrades the petition, otherwise the petition will be voided/cancelled."

So does this mean that if siblings are unmarried than only it make getting GC more faster if PR Mom files for her son or dauther or else it will take around 14 yr. and in that situation it does not make any difference if me (sister) or my mom (for her son) is filing for my brother?
Please advice. Thanks for your help
