Interviw & passport question?

In regards to my interview, I realize that I will need to show them my passport so that they could stamp it. But my mother has the passport because she and my sibling are all on a family passport. And she refuses to give it to me just for the interview and biometrics. I tried to contact the egyptian consulate but they stated that they need the original passport in order to give me a copy, and my parents refuse to do that also. Is it that important to show them my passport or can I get by with other forms of ID??

PS if anyone is wondering why my parents dont want to give me my passport it is because I married a man that shamefuly they racially do not approve of!

You have to have ...

... your passport. That's as simple as that, no excuses or justifications will be accepted.

If anybody else is holding your passport and not releasing it to you, you need to speak with your country's authorities and work with your rules to either get the passport or apply for a new one.
