Can I translate my own birth certificate?

Hey guys,
since I'm fluent in both the languages, can I be the one who translate my birth certificate and also an affidavit of a name change? My mom had my last name change when I was little so next to my birth certificate which has my birth name on it, I also have an official name change paper which I translated (both are notarized)... Or do I need to find some person who speaks both the languages to do that for me?
