failed marriage..need help!

my friend is a german citizen who fell in love with a soldier over here in the us. at one of her visits (while being here on a visa waiver) they decided to get married. everything went well and were ready to send out their paperwork for the greencard but unfortunatly he had to go for training somewhere and spent all the money..wellthat is about a yaer ago..since then they always tried to get the money together but in between agued and agued in their marriage. it definatly was love but now after alittle over a year and broken promises from his side to send out the paperwork....cheating and arguing she is just done with the marriage!!!..wants to get a divorce....
my question is now...what are her option? i know she can't file alone...she can't file for any battery or waiving any rights for joint filing because they haven't filed in the first place!!!....never filed anything...she cant get a job...and because she is gone for so long she would have to start all over back home...here she found friends..but has no rights and is basically illegal...sad thing is that she might now be banned to enter the us for any future visits.....are there any ways or option?...she just simply believe evrything her husband had said and is screwed now?

Go back home. No other options since she overstayed her visa. Other than divorcing and marrying another US Citizen and filing for the GC, but in this scenario that may be seen as an attempt to "stay in the USA"... and may be denied.
