    Hi Everybody,

I am married to a USC. We had GC interview on April 2nd, 2008. At the conclusion of the interview, the IO told us that my GC got approved. We were very happy.

We came back home and I checked the status of my GC online (if it has been ordered or not) on April 03, 2008.

I am copying the exact message as it still apears online status of I-485.

" Current Status: Case reopened or reconsidered based on USCIS determination, and the case is now pending.

We reopened this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS on April 3, 2008, and are now reviewing our earlier decision. We also mailed you a notice describing the next steps in the process. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Our review should be completed within 30 days. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service."

Anyone, please help me and tell me what is heck it this. Did my GC really got approved or IO lied to us ? He said that we will receive a notice regarding my approval and then we are good for another two years. Later, 90 days before expiration of my GC, we will have to file an application for removal of conditions. So apparently, he said that we were approved. Immediately one day after the approval, the online status shows that case has been reopened.
I am completely freaked out. Please help me!!! Please....

Online status is not completely fool proof. There are cases when people got the green card by mail and the online status shows "processing". Wait for the letter from USCIS. You should be fine. There is no reason for the IO to lie or give out incorrect information.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

or maybe they found out you lied on your application and now they will deny your GC...
