NVC - CP DS-230 last stage requirements have changed.

I applied for my mother GC and we are in last stage where I received DS 230
form instructions today.

So far I was told by forum members that I need to have my mother's birth certificate, police clearance certificate etc at the time of interview. But in the letter I received, it clearly says, I need to send all those documents in original along with DS 230 Part I & II

We are in the process of obtaining PCC from passport office but by reading the instructions from NVC, we need PCC only from local police authority and no need to get passport office PCC.

If anybody in the same boat as mine, until now, i wasn't aware of meaning of my mom's NVC case number first 3 letters. Her's starts with NWD - I found today that it is New Delhi Consulate and she is from A.P.

I talked to NVC agent and they said I need to send a mail to request change of consulate nearest to applicant. In our case it will be Chennai.

If anyone in the same stage with their parents CP, can they please confirm this new changes NVC made?

I was having the same question about the PCC and other documents that I have to submit in original. I called NVC yesterday. After several attempts I was able to talk to an live person. She said that the file will not be sent to the local consulate office which in my case is Mumbai, until we submit all the documents listed under "Document Preparation" section.
She also said that the applicant have to get PCC from Passport office but if the applicant's passport was more than 6 months old at the time of beginning of process (I-130), then they have to submit PCC from District Police office also. So in my case I have to submit two PCC's (one from Passport office and one from District Police office)
Hope this information is helpful to you... I am not sure how to change the consulate from New Delhi to Chennai. May be you should call them directly and ask. Their Phone # is (603)334-0700.

I finally managed to get all the documents today from my mom. I will send them to NVC today. For now, I only got PCC from passport office which was verified by local policy district office. So, I assume NVC will be satisfied with one PCC.

BTW, I don't find much support from parents CP questions on this mailing list.

please write about interview experience in cp

Hi folks,
I will highly appreciate if you can write about your interview experience in consular processing.
I would like to know, when they had finger printing, when they got the original documents back that we sent to NVC (on the same day of the interview or thru courier service),how long it took to get the passport, what kind of question they asked, etc etc.
