My husband wants a divorce!!

Hello,
I am at a loss, my husband would have been married for 2 years in june. but things are not working out between us, I love him with all my heart but he wants out. Where does this leave me.
I filed for AOS in March, and dont know whats gonna happen to me, I am not even sure if i care about what happens to me.
So where do I go from here???

Your situation is sensitive. I suggest you do not rely on forum replies. Talk to a good attorney. If you cannot afford one, there are some attorneys giving free initial advice on line.

By the way, you filed AOS from which visa? Or were you out of status?

My statuss was L2
and I dont work, so I cant afford an attorney

How far are you on your immigration process? did you have your fingerprints taken? why don't you hold still until you get your residency. Try to see a counselor or something

Then the GC is not family based but employment based and you were a derivative of the petition.

Try counselling or other services to stay in the marriage. But it will work if both of you are willing to make it work. Otherwise, you would not have problems if the GC is approved before the divorce unlike family based conditional greencard where conditions have to be removed after 2 years of marriage. That doesn't apply to you.

If the divorce is final before the GC gets approved, you are out of luck. That is the sad truth about dependent visa and dependent status.
