It's been 7 months waiting my I-130 receipt.

I submitted my I-130 petition for my brother in Oct 2007. So far I haven’t still received receipt number or I-797C, although my check was cashed in December 2007. It looks unusual to me because it has been 7 months since I submit my petition.

I was trying to call USCIS at1-800-375-5283, but no one answered my phone. The voice machine asked for case number, how come I have case number since I haven't received anything from them.

Can anyone share similar experience? Is there any way to directly contact USCIS about my concern?

Keep calling

I would keep calling USCIS. I sent in my I-130 Feb 19th and waited 60 days to finally call. They had issued me a receipt, however my towns post office was having difficulty delivering it to me. If they have issued a receipt they can give you the info on the phone so you can keep track of it online.

I-130 receipt

We posted our petition on the 12th of December 2007, it was received on the 14th of Dec., 2007 and we received the receipt notice on January 31 2008.

We made a mistake and did not file the AOS and the EAD concurently so we are waiting for a miracle for our petition to be swept accross the process with speed.

We have been informed there is a backlogg of appplications so we are waiting patiently. though it can sometimes be frustrating since you cannot work until the I-485 and I-765 is filed and approved .

So take it easy and wait, it is well
