H1 and marrying a citizen abroad

Hi, I have 2 questions. I m currently on H1 visa. I m marrying a US citizen in november in India. I want to enter the US on h1 and then declare marriage here in a court.

1) Can i do this? That is enter after my marriage on H1 and then declare marriage here

2) How much time , i would get my green card after i marry here.

i am in same situation got married to US citizen in Jan in India and I am on H1 B. Can you let me know how to register our marriage in USA..Can u pls tell me the process...Thanks in advance

You can use the Indian marriage certificate to file a petition.
